Junkers EF116
Jet Bomber Design with W-Wing, 1943, not built
Junkers EF116
(from Herwig, "Luftwaffe Secret Projects: Bombers 1939-1945")
The Junkers EF116 Design was a Jet bomber Project from 1943 under the development of Hertel and Wocke. It was a parallel development to the P188-01 of Blohm + Voss to test the capabilities of the W-Wing Design. The W-Wing had a 25 degree sweep from the fuselage towards the outer wing and a 23,5 degree negative sweep on the final quarter of the Wing. The cantilever shoulder wing aircraft had a canopy glas Cockpit on the top front. Two Jumo 109-004H Turbojet engines were mounted in pairs under each side of the wing.
The Research of the W-Wing was done in cooperation with the DVL. The Research work was stopped by the RLM at the end of 1943.
