Aircraft Types equipped with Jumo 222:
Dornier Do 435
The Dornier 435 project should be equipped with a Jumo 213 or a Jumo 222.
Finally this aircraft design was also stopped by the RLM.
Focke Wulf Fw191
The standard engine of the Focke Wulf Fw 191 bomber should become the Jumo 222.
As the serial production of the Jumo 222 engine did not start early enough,
prototypes V1 to V5 were equipped with BMW 801A.
The Fw 191V6 was finally equipped with Jumo 222A/B.
But the engine performance was not good enough
and several alternate engine designs were made for the aircraft.
Finally the complete Fw191 was dropped due to a missing engine.
Focke Wulf Fw300
During WWII Focke Wulf was engaged in the further development of the Fw200.
The projected Fw 300 shoud be equipped with Jumo 222 engines.
The design was developed at SNCASO in France and finally stopped.
Heinkel He 219A-4 and B-1, C
The original night fighter He 219 was equipped with the DB603 engine.
The A-4 series was a design for a combat aircraft.
Instead of the DB603, this aircraft was powered by the Jumo 222.
The A-4 series never went into production.
Another He 219 series B-1 was a destroyer project.
This aircraft should also be equipped with two Jumo 222A/B.
A few aircraft were built for experimental trials, but did not enter serial production.
The final He 219 C-series was also projected with two Jumo 222.
This night fighter aircraft did not went into prototype development before the end of WWII.
Junkers Ju 288A and B
The Junkers Ju 288 bomber was equipped with Jumo 222 as the standard engine.
As the Jumo 222 was not ready for production in 1941, V1 to V4 got BMW 801 engines.
Later V5 and V6 were the first Ju 288 with Jumo 222A/B engines.
No serial production was initiated due to technical problems
The redesigned B-series of the Ju 288 also got the Jumo 222A/B.
A few aircraft were also equipped with the Jumo 222C/D.
Later prototypes of the B-series were equipped with BMW801 and DB606.
As the serial production of the Jumo 222 did not come into action
the Ju 288C series was equipped with DB610 by standard.
Only a few more were built before the end of WWII.
Junkers Ju 52
The first Jumo 222 inflight test was performed with a Junkers Ju 52.
This aircraft was also used for subtype tests of the Jumo 222.
