Our 30th Online-Anniversary

In 2026 the Hugo Junkers Homepage is celebrating its 30th Anniversary of being Online at the Internet. We thank all People, who have supported this Homepage during its active years from 1996 to 2017 and all People, who have used or use our Homepage during the past Thirty years.

When we started the Hugo Junkers Homepage in Spring 1996, it was just a Trial to learn, how a Webpage is created. What meanwhile is quite simple with a lot of usefull Website-Creator-Utilities needed in the mid-90s to learn a lot of commands of the HTML-Code, which had to be edited in a classic Editor-Program, And whatever you had coded in your Editor … to see, what it is, you had to save your file and load it with one of These early cryptic Browsers.

We were surprised in 1996, how many positive Feedback came in and how many vistors were visiting the Hugo Junkers Homepage. That was intersting, because the initial Homepage was Nothing more than a Junkers Aircraft Type List. So, we filled up the simple type list with links to historical and technical Background pages. We got a lot of Questions from model kit builders, users of the Microsoft FlightSim, Stamp Collectors and much more and added Dedicated pages with Infos for their interests. A most intentsive Topic became the discussion of the "Where are the last remaining Junkers Aircraft" worldwide. The Hugo Junkers Homepage grew continously for more than eight years, until we stopped updating in frequently in 2004.

The Hugo Junkers Homepage was Always a non-Profit Project. So it was Always hosted by Webspace Providers, who offered their Webspace for free. Initial Host in 1996 was the Geocities-Server, which by then was free for AOL customers. Since 1998 the Hugo Junkers Homepage was available under www.junkers.de.vu, In 2008, when the Geocities-Space was closed, we changed to the Pytal Webspace Provider. Since 2010 even the seldom updates of the Hugo Junkers Homepage came to an end. The Homepage remained as it was. In the mid-2010s the Homepage was captured by some webpirates, who rerouted vistors of the Hugo Junkers Homepage to some other Webpages and therefore, we removed the Hugo Junkers Homepage from Pytal in About 2015 without having any alternative Webspace.

However, we were surprised About the many requests asking us, where to find the Hugo Junkers Homepage now. In 2017, we decided to reactivate the Hugo Junkers Homepage in a new more state-of-the-art design. Since 2017 bplaced.net is the new Webspace Provider for the Hugo Junkers Homepage.

We hope everyone still enjoys the Hugo Junkers Homepage, even if it is not updated in General since 20 years now. We are proud to have this Homepage online for Thirty years now and it is surely one of the very few still existing Homepages of the very early days of the World Wide Web.
